
The UIUC Ice Arena is home to many ice skating opportunities. UIUC's synchronized skating team is nationally ranked, and their performers have competed at the world and national levels. Tickets for the UIUC Spring Show cost $5 for general seating, and $7 for reserved seats.
University of Illinois Ice Arena
Champaign's University of Illinois Ice Arena (also known as The Big Pond) is an ice skating rink. It is owned by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. There are many events held at the rink, including ice hockey.

Opportunities to skate
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's ice arena is open to the general public. If you're interested in hosting a group event at the rink, there are several steps you should take. First, you need to make a reservation. Visit the Illini Union's RSO Office in Room 284 to make a reservation. A list of participants must be provided when you reserve ice. Additionally, you will need to arrange to have a supervisor present at the rink for any questions that you might have during the rental period.
Center Ice Cafe
The University of Illinois Ice Arena has a Center Ice Cafe that is open to all. The cafe is situated adjacent to Customer Service Office. There's also an Ice Arena Pro Shop with a wide variety of hockey and skating accessories.
Free skate trainers
Champaign, Illinois' University of Illinois Ice Arena (UIUC). It is owned and operated by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The public is welcome to use the ice arena throughout the year. The public can use this rink to practice their skateboarding and figure skating skills.
Spring Show
The UIUC Ice Arena Spring Show will be held soon. This event will feature performances from local skaters as well as a nationally-ranked synchronized skating team. Many of these local skaters have competed on the national as well as international level. The event tickets will cost $5 for general seating, $7 for reserved seating.

Gas leak at UI Ice Arena
Following a leak at its ice rink, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has sent out an Illini-Alert. The building was evacuated at 406 E. Armory Ave. after Ameren Illinois crews discovered a leak. To stop contamination from spreading further, firefighters closed the sideway to protect the arena. It is believed that the leak originated beneath the building.
