Scuba Diving St Lucia

scuba certifications

St Lucia has many diving options. Some of the most spectacular dives can be found near the Anse Chastanet reef. These dives are suitable for all levels of scuba divers, even those who aren't comfortable diving. They are 10-25 feet in length and contain some of the best corals.

Anse Chastanet Reef

The resort offers complimentary guided hikes and relaxation on the beaches. The estate also houses an organic farm as well as a chocolate laboratory.

Anse Chastanet was awarded five Best of Readers Choice awards. It is both a great place to learn and a great spot for experienced divers. The reef has wrecks and wall diving. There is also boat diving. Night diving is popular at the Anse Chastanet.

Dani Koyomaru

Divers who wish to dive in Saint Lucia can choose from a number of options. You have the option to visit Rosemond's Trench which is smaller but no less impressive. Or, you can explore deeper waters. The site is well-known for its huge schools of tropical fish, man-sized sponges and intricate coral formations. This is also the best place to dive and see the famous Saint Lucia Reef System.

A few miles from the coast, the Daini Koyomaru is a wreck. This Japanese dredger fell in 1996. Although the ship is partially submerged, the superstructure keeps the wreck upright. Upturned decks are visible, as well as inscriptions in Japanese and other languages.

Dani Koyomaru dredger

The Daini Koyomaru dredged in 1996, a Japanese fishing vessel, is a fantastic wreck to dive. It's 74 meters long and about twenty-four meters tall. The dredger can be sunk on its side and is now safe for experienced divers. French angelfishes, garden eels (moray eels), and barracudas are just some of its marine inhabitants.

Another popular St Lucia dive location is the 165-foot Japanese dredger Lesleen M. While the depths of this dive site are limited, the reef is home to a number of fascinating creatures, including scorpionfish, flying gurnard, and rays.

Soufriere Marine Management Area

The Soufriere Marine Management Area in St Lucia is an excellent place to dive and get close to the coral reefs. This marine management area was established to preserve the waters and foster a healthy ecosystem. It was founded in response to environmental degradation, conflict among resource owners, and other factors. SMMA was especially created due to conflict between local fishermen and divers.

The Soufriere Pitons site has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. It is managed by the Nature Reserve and boasts some of the most beautiful diving in St Lucia. You will find many coral species here, and a lot of tropical fish. This area is also known for the passage of various species of cetaceans and predators. Divers will also be able to see the incredible marine biodiversity.
