If you are thinking of your next scuba diving adventure, think about going somewhere remote and exotic. The famous dive spots like Shark Reef Marine Reserve, Philippines, are just a few of the options. You may also consider diving the corals off the coast Indonesia. These places are famous for their bizarre muck diving critters, manta rays and other stunning sights. These locations will have you falling in love with the idea of exploring them.

Sipadan

The lure of Sipadan's reefs, a popular spot among divers in the Philippines, is too tempting for scuba divers. This area is located in the middle of a coral triangle, making it one of the most biodiverse marine environments in the world. Sharks, lion fish, and turtles are all common sights around this area. The visibility ranges from 15 to 40 meters so you won't have any trouble exploring the underwater world surrounding Sipadan.

Shark Reef Marine Reserve

In the shark-rich waters of the Shark Reef Marine Reserve, you can experience some of the most thrilling dives in the world. The marine reserve offers a unique experience as it is home to many species of fish and coral. There are 125 species of sharks, plus more than 5,000 species mollusks. Among these diverse species of fish and corals, the heart-shaped reef formation, called Heart Reef, is an incredible site to experience. This stunning structure is 17m in diameter and can be seen from above.

Half Moon Caye Wall

This amazing dive site is home for many kinds of marine animals. Recent research has revealed that the wall is home to sharks who recently made it their home. Look out for sea fans and brain coral while you're at the wall. A turtle or two might be possible. If you're feeling adventurous you can explore the underwater tunnels among coral outcrops.


Yongala

You have many options when it comes to diving on the SS Yongala. Townsville is 3 hours away by fastboat from Townboard. Advanced certified divers are best suited to these dives, which are around 30m deep. If you can afford to spend a few more dollars, consider taking a day trip and diving the SS Yongala on a day trip. The trip takes about three hours total and includes two tanks.

Punta Vicente Roca

Punta VicenteRoca is the only place to scuba dive. The site is 200 kilometers away from the nearest inhabited island. There are several types of sea creatures that can be seen on a dive here, including the Galapagos marine iguana, red-lipped batfish, and schooling black-striped salema. The endemic Galapagos flightless comorants can also be captured by photographers.

Bonaire

Bonaire's beautiful dive sites will amaze divers. The most notable dive sites are located on the island's leeward shore, such as the 1000 Steps, which is named after the long narrow staircase that leads to its entrance. This site is a favourite with snorkellers and divers alike, with clear water and abundant schooling fish. This site, together with the Karpata diving site, has incredible drop-offs.
