The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), is a course that will help you become an instructor. Here's how the IDC works, including the course orientation and open water presentations. These are some of the key points to remember when considering this career path. PADI Instructor Development Certificate is the best option for you, regardless of whether you want to instruct general diving, teach open water, or teach scuba classes.
PADI Instructor Training Course (IDC).
The PADI Instructor Development course (IDC) prepares instructors for the PADI instructor certification. Candidates are assessed in the classroom as well as in confined and emergency water situations. Each section contains a number of tests and exercises. This course emphasizes practical experience. Candidates will be expected to plan and implement their own lessons as well as learning from others. In addition, the course covers diving theory.
The PADI Instructor Development Course consists of 19 presentations, each covering a different topic. Topics include the PADI System, Course Standards, PADI Instructor Manual, and PADI Training Programs. Chris emphasizes the development of the PADI Instructor, learning the PADI educational model, and making maximum use of the PADI teaching tools. PADI Instructor Design Course (IDC), is an excellent way for you to receive the education necessary to teach the sport.

Course orientation
For your success at the IDC, the orientation phase is essential if you have ever been to one. The evaluation of teaching presentations by a PADI Staff Member Instructor is crucial. This instructor can help you if you have difficulties understanding or learning a topic. The IDC staff instructor will assess all aspects of the curriculum and provide constructive feedback and encouragement.
Throughout the PADI Instructor Development Course, you'll learn the ins and outs of the PADI System of Education and Practice. The course topics include the Dive Industry Overview, General Standards and procedures, Prescriptive Teaching and Legal Responsibility, Risk Management and 5 Dive Theories. Practical applications will also be covered. Depending upon the IDC focus, the orientation section can take up to three full days.
Open Water Teaching Seminars
Open Water Teaching Presentations (OTP) are two of the requirements for the PADI Instructor Development Course. These presentations are essential to the overall success and viability of the IDC program. PADI IDC candidates will need to be proficient in two skills at the same dive. These skills might be from different courses. These presentations must be practiced before they are given to candidates by the IDC in order to make sure that they are understood. They should also feel confident and have a solid understanding of all the skills they will acquire during their PADI Divemaster Course.
PADI Instructor Development courses include nine (9) IDC Curriculum presentations. These presentations must be delivered by the PADI Course director or IDC staff and should relate to the PADI Open Water Divers, PADI Rescue Divers, or PADI Advanced Open Water Course. They must include a Knowledge Development Teaching presentation and two skills presentations from the Rescue Diver Course.
