There are several certification courses offered by organizations. These courses include the NAUI Enriched Airnitrox Diver (PADI Enriched Air Diver), SSI Adventure Diver (Open Water Diver), and PADI Enriched Air Diver (PADI Enriched Air Diver).
PADI Enriched Air Diver
PADI Enriched Air Divers (EANx) certification is designed for divers who want to improve their diving experience. This course includes a home study and a brief classroom session. The EANx course teaches the basics of how to record the percentage of oxygen in a scuba tank.
Nitrox enriched air divers are able to extend the time they can stay underwater without having to make frequent stops. This is due to the lower level of nitrogen in the air, which allows for a wider safety margin. Additionally, enriched air mixtures usually contain 32% to 36% oxygen which makes them suitable for diving at shallow depths.
NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver
If you want to improve your diving, an enriched air diver certification will help you get there. This course teaches the basics of mixing air, the risks associated high oxygen concentrations, and how you can handle the equipment. Furthermore, you'll be able to use a divecomputer and analyze the contents. In addition, you'll also learn about the Equivalent Air Depthance (EANx) and how to use a standard air dive table. The common blending of nitrogen and oxygen is also covered.
Nitrox is also known as enhanced air. This type of breathing gas contains more oxygen then standard air. The higher oxygen content allows you to stay underwater longer without the need to recharge your tank. Because it reduces decompression fatigue, this is good for your health. Additionally, enriched air divers have shorter surface intervals.
SSI Adventure Diver
SSI, an internationally recognized dive organization, offers the SSI Adventure Diver Nitrox Certification. The certification requires a combination of experience, knowledge, and skills. You must have at least 50 dives, and four specialty courses to be eligible for this award.
The SSI Adventure Diver nitrox course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to dive in limited visibility. It teaches divers how navigate in dark conditions, use specialized equipment, communicate with other divers, and how to communicate with them. After completing this course, they will be eligible to apply for the SSI Nitrox Specialty certification.
SSI Open Water Diver
The SSI Open Water Diver course is an internationally recognized certification program that includes three parts: academic learning, in-water pool training, and multiple open-water dives. This course teaches you how plan and dive with oxygen-enriched air mixes, up to 40%. This can help you increase your bottom time and shorten your surface intervals, and may help you avoid decompression sickness.
PADI and SSI diver centers have different ways of handling certifications. With a PADI certification, you are required to purchase your manual. An SSI certification allows you to receive your card at the dive center where your course was completed. You may also be able to use temporary cards from PADI certification centres as proof of your certification.
