You will learn about the habitats and aquatic animals of different species as a Scuba Ranger. Learn about underwater and surface searching techniques. These techniques include compasses, circle and square searches, grid searches, and grid searches. Also, you'll learn how to do various water sports such as swimming, kayaking, surfing, and more.
Advanced Scuba Rangers programme
Advanced Scuba Rangers is a program that allows students to develop their diving skills and gain confidence in water. Advanced Scuba Rangers will have the ability to take part in various underwater activities, and to show off their skills to family and friends. This program will appeal to children who are interested in the sea.
There are two phases to the Advanced Scuba Rangers Program. The first phase is designed to introduce students to basic skills required for wreck diving. The second phase covers how to locate wrecks, prepare for them and research them. They also learn how different search patterns can be used and how to estimate distances. They will also learn how to evaluate the risk of wreck diving.
To become an Advanced Scuba Ranger, you must first complete the basic Scuba Rangers program. The average program lasts five full days. It costs $350, including the training kit, pool time, instructor fees, and all scuba equipment. You must be at minimum eight years of age to enroll in this program. Optionally, the program includes a one-day Ranger Specialty course.
Field trips at aquariums

They are taught in collaboration with Next Generation Science Standards experts by Aquarium professionals. Additionally, these programs include teacher resources. Students can tour non-public areas and enjoy narrated feedings. The Aquarium also offers online classes that are free for teachers and resources such printable art and craft. Zoom technology also allows students to experience a virtual tour of China’s Great Wall of China.
Teachers can also take advantage of a free orientation for teachers. It takes approximately 60 minutes to complete and includes a brief overview of the National Aquarium's education programs. Instructors will learn how to safely use scuba equipment, how to use regulators and masks, and how to air-share. They will also be taught about different marine species and how to care for equipment. After completing their orientation, students can visit the aquarium and participate in an educational program.
Learn in the pool
Rangers not only learn to dive but also learn navigation and basic underwater searching techniques. To find underwater treasures, they also learn to use a compass and grid. These skills can be practiced by the Rangers in the pool. Once they've mastered each skill, they'll begin learning to swim a mile in the water with their mask, fins, and snorkel. Rangers will learn basic first aid skills and recognize signs of stress while diving.
To learn, you must perform a front or back flip under water. Another activity requires candidates to grab a face mask from the floor of the pool with their teeth and perform five bobs underwater. Failure to complete a bob can result in the mask being dropped, broken restraints or touching the sides.
